Policy
The BSI represents the views of its members. As a learned scientific society, it is a purely evidence-based organization.
The BSI does not offer advice to those using the website, but does use the site to report and summarise the facts and evidence relating to particular issues of interest to people who are not immunologists. For example, visitors to the site may be interested in the evidence about the MMR vaccine; they may be curious about clinical trials; or the latest thinking on asthma and allergy.
Where appropriate, the BSI will publish accessible summaries of the scientific evidence and signpost visitors to places where they can find out more information. We want people to make informed decisions about issues which may affect their health and welfare.
At times, the BSI may publish opinion pieces, or may produce a position statement about a specific area of Immunology or the current debate about a related issue. As always, such pieces will reflect the available evidence in a factual and unbiased way.
If you have suggestions for areas you would like to see covered on the website, please
