6th Prize

Peek-a-boo! by Louise Pritt

The image represents the ability of the herpes simplex virus to hide from the immune system and re-appear at anytime (when worn down). The image is in the style of Andy Warhol to make it stylised, edgey and bold. The virus particles jumping from the infected area are to show that the virus can be spread from person to person. The nerve cell is represented in the top right of each image as this is where the virus choses to become latent.

Louise is 26 years old and a teacher of biology at The Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone, Kent. She did an A-level in Art and Graphic design and thought the competition was a great way for me to do something creative again!
