Become a member of the BSI

Please read the information below about how to become a new member of the BSI or if you wish to renew your membership

If you are an existing BSI member, please log in and renew your membership.

1. Before you apply to become a member

Please take the time to look at the aims and history of the BSI as well as the BSI Rules. If you have not already done so, you may also wish to look at the benefits of membership to ensure you take full advantage of the many services available to BSI members.

Membership categories are as follows:

Membership Categories

Concessionary Member (Direct Debit Discount)
Concessionary Member  (paying by Cheque/Credit Card)

2. Apply for membership

  1. Please click here for online membership paying by direct debit
  2. If you do not wish to pay by direct debit and take advantage of the discounted prices, please click here and download the relevant forms and complete as indicated.
If you were a past member of the BSI and there has been a gap in your membership, please include your past BSI membership number (if known) or any changes in your name to assist with linking your application with your past records.

All UK members may put the cost of their Society subscription against their tax liability and thus reduce the real costs of being a member substantially.

Continuity of membership
Continuous membership is required for some membership benefits (e.g. travel awards) and members are therefore reminded of the need to renew their membership annually. If there has been a break in continuity, please speak to our Membership Administrator to discuss the circumstances and the options available.

3. Any questions

Please contact our Membership Administrator if you have any questions relating to membership.
